Quick start: From documents to your first answer

This guide takes you from uploading source material to receiving your first answer from TWILL and checking the information behind it.
Before you begin
Prepare one or more documents containing information relevant to your workspace, such as:
- meeting materials
- minutes
- reports
- proposals
- policies
- strategic documents
1. Upload your documents
Click Upload in the left sidebar menu.
Select files from your device or drag them into the upload area. Add details such as the document date or destination folder.
The document date helps TWILL place extracted information in the correct historical context.

2. Wait for processing to finish
After upload, each document shows its current status.
Before asking questions about a newly uploaded document, make sure its status is Processed.
- Uploading — the file is being transferred.
- Processing — TWILL is reading the document and connecting its information with the existing knowledge base.
- Processed — the document has been processed and its information is available.
- Failed — the document could not be uploaded or processed.

3. Open the Assistant
Select Assistant in the navigation menu on the left.
You can either write your own question or select one of the suggested tasks available in your workspace. To start a new conversation, click + New chat in the left side panel.

4. Ask your first question
Start with a clear and specific question related to the uploaded material.
For example:

- Which issues require attention?
- What actions are still open?
- What has changed since the previous report?
- How does this proposal relate to our strategic priorities?

5. Review the answer
TWILL uses the information available in your workspace to generate an answer.
The response may include links to relevant items, records, and source documents. Open these links to explore the supporting context.

- the current summary of an item
- its history
- related information
- the date of individual records
- the source behind each record
- and others

6. Verify the sources
Before relying on an answer for a meeting or decision, review the supporting records and source documents.
7. Add new information through the Assistant
You can also provide the Assistant with information that is not yet available in the knowledge base.
For example:
TWILL can save the information as new knowledge or use it to update an existing item. Review the result to make sure the information has been understood and connected correctly.
